Taylor Swift is Taylor Alison Swift. She was born the 13th of December, 1989 in Pennsylvania's West Reading. Swift has been a singer/songwriter from the pop/country genre for the past 20 years. Swift's stories of romantic love in the midst of heartbreak and young love have gained her widespread popularity in the 21st Century. Swift was interested in music from an early age. Swift quickly rose up the ranks, starting by playing roles in the theater for children before singing in front of an audience of thousands. Swift was eleven years old when she sang The Star-Spangled Banner at a Philadelphia 76ers basketball match. Following that, she began writing songs and got a guitar. Swift had taken her influences from the music of Shania Twain and The Dixie Chicks now known as The Chicks within the realm of music from the country genre, wrote the songs of her own to convey the feeling of being alienated. Swift's family moved into Tennessee from Pennsylvania at the age of thirteen so she could spend longer pursuing popular country music labels in Nashville.
